  • Entertaining Tim Burton-Style Short Film FISH FRIEND

Here's an entertaining little short film called Fish Friend that was inspired by the films of Tim Burton, the short films of Pixar, and 1950s Americana. It hails from some very talented filmmakers, including director Jordan Blum (writer/producer on American Dad, writer for Community), producers John Swartz (Lucasfilm development executive) and Justin Wagman (Director of Worldwide Distribution at Paramount Pictures), editor Spencer Houck (Community, Franklin & Bash) and cinematographer Devin Doyle. It's a fun short that goes to some pretty unexpected places, and it's worth a watch if you appreciate movies that take advantage of this format. Watch the short below, and at the bottom of the page, check out a behind-the-scenes video showing how they made the stop-motion piranha.

You never forget your first pet: this is the lesson ten-year-old Sally learns when she discovers, the hard way, that her new goldfish is actually a bloodthirsty piranha. As Sally and her fish friend forge a lasting relationship, the carnivorous pet wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting neighborhood.
