Hammer has released a creepy new teaser trailer for their supernatural horror thriller The Quiet Ones. The movie is based on a true story about a professor who with his students created a poltergeist in the early '70s. The movie is being directed by John Pogue, and stars Jared Harris (Mad Men, Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows) and Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman). Hammer most recently brought us The Lady in Black, and it looks like they are going to deliver another great horror flick. I'm glad Hammer is making horror movies again! Here's the the full synopsis for the film,
Inspired by true events, The Quiet Ones tells the story of an unorthodox professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying than they ever could have imagined.
The movie also stars Sam Claflin, Olivia Cooke, Erin Richards, and Rory Fleck-Byrne, and Lionsgate will release the movie on April 11th, 2014.
