  • Ashanti Give Fans Access To The Vault

R&B singer Ashanti is opening up the vault and unleashing a collection of previously unreleased songs in an upcoming album scheduled for this fall.

AJM Records have placed 12 of her tracks from 2001 prior to Ashanti signing her joint venture deal with Murder Inc and Def Jam the following year. The project dubbed The Vault, features a varied line-up of producers including Steven White, Kenny Flav, Kidd Kold, Nocko and 15 year-old Miguel “Migs” Baeza.

The first official single, “Let’s Do Something Crazy,” places Migs behind the boards and features Miami, rapper Flo Rida.

AJM in-house producer Kold helped create the beat for the second single “Imagine” while also producing seven other records on the project.

Ashanti’s latest effort, The Declaration, which debuted at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top 200, has sold over 230,000 units after entering the charts in June.

The Vault is currently scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, October 14 on AJM Records.

In related news, Ashanti will be joining the likes of Ne-Yo, DJ Kiss and DJ Sky Nellor later this month as she helps headline Hennessy’s Artistry Concert Series.

As the concert’s first-ever curator, Ne-Yo will design all aspects of the series, from the actual performances to the stage design.

“The Princess of R&B” hits the stage Thursday, September 25 in Chicago.
