  • Michael Jackson family claims forthcoming Christmas album ‘a fake’

In what may become a serious case, Sony Music are due to release a new collection of songs by Michael Jackson for the holiday season. But Michael’s family say several of the vocals are fakes.

Sources tell TMZ that Michael’s two children, Paris and Prince believe some of the singing was done by a faker. But Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for Jackson’s estate says experts have heard all the tracks and they concluded it’s Michael singing.

In a interview with Oprah that was shot at their home over the weekend Michael’s mom, Katherine Jackson says the five songs most in doubt were recorded at the home of Michael’s friends, the Cascio family in 2007, and are done by ‘an impostor.’

“Katherine says it’s not his voice, but the estate says it’s going to release the album anyway,” a source shares.

Michael briefly stayed with the Cascios in New Jersey in the Summer of ‘07, and they built a studio for him. He did a lot of recordings there, and Katherine thinks this is where the fakes came from.

‘They think the Cascios added what they wanted to his partially recorded tracks and took the material to Sony after he died,” the insider explains. “Michael left a lot of stuff behind and we think they’re taking advantage of that.”

But Sony are unworried – they even hired forensic audiologists to decide if the vocals are really Jackson, and they now intend to release the album because those experts are quite sure it’s him.

The Jackson family signed a $250-million deal to release this album and others, and there are no threats of lawsuits…Yet. But that can change. Meanwhile, the telling interview with Oprah will air on November 8th
