Drake Says He's The First To 'Successfully Sing And Rap'

Since bursting onto the scene with his 2009 mixtape, So Far Gone, Drake has carved out a niche for himself via a combination of rapping and singing. The dual-ability has helped him top the charts and release two multi-platinum albums... but would he be the first to successfully merge both?

Drake thinks so. In a recent interview with the Jewish Chronicle, the Toronto native said he believes he's the first.

"There were people who incorporated melody before me. But, I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing."

Is Drizzy reaching with this statement? After all, artists like 50 Cent, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony, Nelly, Andre 3000, DMX and even Ja Rule both sang and rapped.
