Ice Cube was in New York City recently, and made a stop by the Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg's Juan Epstein podcast and discussed history ... from N.W.A., movies, beefs, and his upcoming projects, including a new album entitled Everything's Corrupt.
In the three-part clip, the west coast hip-hop icon recalls his historic break-up with N.W.A. and how things turned sour, explaining Eazy-E and Jerry Heller gave him an ultimatium and he left to go solo. Cube also talks about how he initially met with Chuck D and hooked up with the Bomb Squad to record his first solo album in NYC.
He goes on to cover a slew of other topics, from ghostwriting for Eazy-E early on, the infamous "No Vaseline" N.W.A. diss, Eazy's death, his upcoming N.W.A. movie project, Ruthless Records founder Jerry Heller, and much more.
This is definitely one of the best interviews with Cube in recent memory. Shout to Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds.
