Rapper Nelly was detained in Texas Wednesday evening (October 10) while authorities searched his tour bus, which turned up heroin, a large amount of marijuana and a loaded gun.
According to TMZ.com, the rapper's (real name: Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr.) bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca -- and a police canine detected the presence of drugs.
During a search of the vehicle, police found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over 10 pounds of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag, as well as a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
All seven people on the bus were detained. However, according to law enforcement sources, one of the passengers -- a name named Brian Keith Jones -- admitted the drugs and the gun were his. He was subsequently placed under arrest, while Nelly and the others were let go.
Nelly has yet to comment on the incident.
