The woman accusing Cee Lo Green of drugging and sexually assaulting her on a date at a Los Angeles restaurant had history with the singer, according to a report from TMZ.com.
Apparently, the two met met at the Super Bowl in February 2012. They hung out over the weekend, before partying ways, but they stayed in touch. In addition to seeing each other (he flew her out to L.A. from time to time), they frequently texted and spoke on the phone.
Sources tells TMZ the woman would sometimes asked Cee Lo to buy her expensive gifts, and even asked his friend for advice as to how she could get him to buy her expensive things.
On the day in question, the singer had flown her out to Los Angeles to hang out. They went to an L.A. restaurant and afterward, both took Ecstasy and stayed up all night. One source says, "No one was unconscious," as the woman claims.
The source tells TMZ the woman fabricated the story because she's in a relationship with someone back in Texas, who found out she was in L.A. with Cee Lo and wants to cover her butt.
She claims Cee Lo slipped her Ecstasy in her drink while at a restaurant in downtown L.A. restaurant in July. She says the next thing she knew she was laying naked in a bed with him in a room.
Cee Lo was reportedly taped, via a phone conversation, apologizing to the woman, referencing MDMA (Ecstasy), saying he thought the drug would help them have a good time.
Cops are currently investigating the allegation.
