Veteran music executive Antonio “LA” Reid will be celebrated during Clive Davis’ is legendary annual, pre-Grammy party.
Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Gala takes place the evening before the 55th annual Grammy awards.
During the event, the 2013 Grammy Award Foundation will honor Epic Records’ Chairman/CEO, LA Reid.
Reid is being honored with the President’s Merit Award, for his contributions to the music industry.
In addition to being a hit songwriter in the group The Deele, LA Reid formed the groundbreaking influential Atlanta-based label LaFace and discovered acts like Outkast, Usher, Toni Braxton, TLC, Goodie Mob and others.
After he sold LaFace in May of 2000, Reid took over as head of Arista, before moving on to head up legendary label Def Jam Records.
From there, LA Reid took up the top position at Epic Records, where he currently oversees a roster of acts that include Shakria, Avril Lavigne, Future and others.

In addition to signing artists, LA Reid has produced or co-written more than 30 #1 singles and has also won 3 Grammy Awards.
The event honoring LA Reid will take place on Saturday February 9, at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel.
