Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are both heading across the pond to close-out two nights of the 9th annual Wireless Festival in London this summer.
The “Suit & Tie” collaborators will be the respective headlining acts for the July 12 and July 13 dates of the festivities taking place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
There have been rumors circulating that the Hip-Hop legend and the Pop sensation were planning a joint stadium tour for this year, but no official details about that potential tour has been released.
While Jay and Timberlake are booked on separate days of the festival, going off Jay-Z’s past record of bringing out special guests at his shows and the fact the two hit the stage together at this year’s Grammy awards, it is likely that they will join each other during at least one of their sets at Wireless.
The Wireless Festival began as a showcase for mostly Rock and EDM acts, but over the last 5 years, more Hip-Hop artists have been booked in top performance slots.
Jay-Z was the first major rapper to headline the festival in 2008 and he returned to top the bill in 2010.
Kanye West (2009) and Drake (2012) have also closed out Wireless in past years.
Other acts currently confirmed to be performing at the Wireless Festival 2013 include Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, John legend, Miguel, and Frank Ocean on Friday, July 12, with Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, and Calvin Harris on Saturday, July 13.
Organizers plan to announce more performers that will be added to the lineup in the future.
