It's been a while since I've roamed these forums... but if memory serves correct a large portion of the active members here are from the UK.
5 or 6 years ago an American friend of mine in the French Foreign Legion swore up and down that french rappers and uk rappers shit all over the American industry scene. While we have many underground artists that can't really be touched like Aesop Rock and El-P but anything mainstream in America has been shit since 2,000. Of course you all know that so no need to go on...
Would love if the UK members here could help me out with some artists to check out.
Looking more for albums that are classics over there rather than just an artists name or songs. I would rather listen to an incredibly good album and learn about an artist that way instead of a shit ton of artists names thrown around in this thread ya know?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions. Also... I'm a big fan of lyricism and quality rap in that sense but I do also like rappers that talk about drugs and street shit and are actually REAL about it.
THAAAAAAAANKS!!!
Also any info on understanding your scene instead of just artists names would be good because I hate to be ignorant about something and not even know im being ignorant haha
