Chris Brown caught a break in his assault case on Monday (October 28 ), when the charged was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.
According to TMZ.com, the 24-year-old singer appeared in a Washington, D.C. courtroom Monday in leg irons and handcuffs, where he entered a plea of not guilty, and was released without bail.
Brown was arrested for felony assault on Sunday morning (October 27) in DC, after allegedly attacking Isaac Parker, 20, outside a hotel and breaking his nose. The two allegedly got into an argument after Parker photo bombed two girls who were taking a photo with the singer. Then, he punched him in the face.
A separate report said that Brown's real problem from the arrest is how it will effect his probation status in his Rihanna domestic battery case. According to TMZ, the L.A. County Probation Dept. is conducting an investigation to determine if he violated his probation. Worst case, if probation is revoked, he could get four years in prison.
