At 41 and eight albums under his belt, Eminem continues to cement his superstar status, tying a mark set by The Beatles in 1964.
Not only did the Detroit rapper landed his first #1 song on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart this week, he also placed four songs in the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, reports Rolling Stone. It's a feat that hasn't been accomplished since The Beatles -- they actually managed to land in the Top 20 with six songs for two consecutive weeks in April of 1964.
This week, Eminem's "The Monster" was #3 on the Hot 100 chart, while "Berzerk," "Survival" and "Rap God" landed at #15, 16, and 17, respectively. All of the songs appear on Em's newly released The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
"The Monster," which also features Rihanna, is Eminem's first #1 tune on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart -- hard to believe he hadn't done it yet.
Other artists have actually had at least four tracks in the top 20 since 1964 -- including 50 Cent in 2005, T-Pain in 2007-08, Lil Wayne in '08 and Ludacris in 2010 -- but they did so, partly, as featured artists, while both Eminem and the Beatles did so as lead artists.
