Gucci Mane is facing a lot of time, after being hit with gun charges for two incidents in September.
According to CNN.com, the rapper (real name: Radric Davis) appeared in a federal court room on Tuesday (Dec. 3), and was charged with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon.
One publicized incident took place on September 14th, when he brandished a gun and threatened police in Atlanta.
At the time, Gucci was arrested after a friend flagged down police because they were concerned about the rapper's behavior. When police approached, he began "cursing and threatening them." He was immediately taken into custody, and charged with disorderly conduct, marijuana possession, and carrying a handgun.
In a news release from federal prosecutors Tuesday, it said there were actually two arrests, both for firearms.
"On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm," the release said. "Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney."
Atlanta Police Chief George Turner applauded the arrest. "We cannot tolerate convicted felons ignoring the law by carrying firearms and endangering our citizens."
Gucci was indicted in November for the two gun charges as a felone, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. He's facing up to 20 years in prison.
