  • G-Unit Affiliate Mazaradi Fox Shot And Killed In Queens

Mazaradi Fox, an emcee formerly affiliated with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records, was shot and killed earlier today (January 3) in Queens, New York.

A NY Daily News article reports that the shooting took place shortly after 4:00 pm. The emcee, who was never officially signed to the label, was the only victim pronounced dead on the scene. Three other victims were all rushed to nearby hospitals. Thisis50.com reports that one of the victims, a female in her twenties, is Mazaradi Fox’s daughter and suffered a graze wound to the neck.

The Daily News article reports that a lone shooter wearing a ski mask fired shots into a white SUV that the victims were inside of. The shooting took place on the corners of Famers Blvd. and 133rd Ave in the St. Albans community of Queens. The same Daily News article reports that the gunman may have fled in a dark Hyundai sedan.

Fox, whose given name is Jamal Green, was 42 years old and reportedly released from a two-year prison bid just two weeks prior to his death. The NY Daily News also reports that according to public court records, the rapper was convicted of attempted murder in 1998.

Thisis50.com released a statement from 50 Cent and G-Unit Records on Fox’s death. “We’re sorry to hear about the tragic news,” the statement says. “Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Despite reports, he was never on the G-Unit record label,” says a representative for G-Unit.

“50 Cent was in his New York studio and was saddened when he heard the news. He sends his condolences to Mazaradi’s family,” a representative for 50 Cent said.
