  • Bizarre Says Eminem Inspired Him To Get Sober

It has been nearly 10 years since Detroit-based rap group D12 released their last studio album, D12 World, and since that time numerous updates have been made in regards to the status of the group. While speaking exclusively with HipHopDX in 2012, D12 rapper Bizarre revealed that he was no longer a part of the group due to “creative differences.”

Nearly two years after his interview with HipHopDX, Bizarre says the group is still together and D12 will forever be attached to his name. The Detroit emcee revealed the news while speaking with Peter Czymbor of WXBR and also confirmed that a new D12 project is slated for release some time this year.

“Yeah, the group is still together,” Bizarre said. “D12 is always gonna be attached to my name. I’m a founding member of D12. It’s not a game. It’s something that’s a life commitment. And we are definitely in the process of talking about a new album. Getting the guys all together…It’s coming soon. It’ll definitely be a new D12 album coming.”

In addition to reuniting with those in D12, Bizarre is also at work on his own music. Just last month he released “Pray For Me,” a song that touches on his addiction to prescription pills and is based on his own experiences.

“Just a real life experiences,” he said. “The song is called ‘Pray For Me.’ Just to let everybody know it’s a real thing, man. It can start off as a real thing. You know, just popping two or three pills a day. Or you might pop ‘em for a backache or just to have fun. And then after a while you look around and you addicted to a drug or you need it. You know what I’m saying? It’s just not as easy as people think it is to just leave it alone and get off of it. It’s just a real life experience that I wanted to share with people. Cause I know everybody think Bizarre is always the funny guy.”

Similar to Bizarre, Eminem also once battled with drug addiction. According to Bizarre, Em served as an inspiration in his decision to become sober.

“That’s still the homeboy. I saw him in the studio a couple of weeks ago,” the rapper said. “Marshall is one-hundred percent sober. He really believes in it. Takes it very, very, very seriously. That’s why I made that reference in the song, ‘Marshall quit, why can’t I/In two weeks I’mma give it a try.’ I basically was saying he’s my motivation. To see where he was at with it and for him to make a change with his life and do something different it’s an inspiration towards me.”

I have a new level of respect for Bizarre. I'm glad he quit drugs because I thought he was still on them. Another thing is, i got a bit mad when he left D12 just like that stating creative differences. It's true what he said, that D12 is no game but a life commitment. Never forget where you from. But another D12 album, dunno about that.

even though its rumoured they have worked on new music, eminem & d12 that is, i feel as if eminem doesnt want much to do with any of d12 except for mr.porter, its clear bizarre is trying to cling onto something to connect him to eminem.

I see what you mean tho. Since Proof's death Eminem never seemed close with the other member except for Mr.Porter but i'd like to think that there are alot of thing we don't see that are behind the scenes.

It kinds of shows as if Proof was the link that kept them united. But i don't know, i mean they came up all together. They cant just go their different ways. Now they'll probably try a comeback but it's too late imo. And while Eminem was away Fuzz Scoota re-joined D12 so it'll be interesting to see if he'll stay or not.

fuzz scoota left i believe. Eminem's drug problem also messed them all up. I think d12 reminds em of his drug problems because they were the ones who supplied him with the drugs,so maybe he doesnt want that reminder.
