Lil Boosie's prison release is getting pushed back, two weeks after Bun B confirmed a Feb. 13 date for his release. Apparently, the rapper's parole board hearing was cancelled... pushing things back.
Music journalist Jeff Weiss updated fans on the news (via Twitter on Friday (Feb. 7), writing: "Just received confirmation that Boosie will not be getting out of jail next week. However, his release is imminent -- most likely in March.
"A parole board hearing was scheduled for Boosie next week but was canceled, because it didn't make sense considering his release is so soon," he continued. "Boosie still has to finish up some classes & then his release date will be officially re-calculated -- tentatively, he'll be home in March."
Lil Boosie has been behind bars since 2009. He was first jailed for a probation violation and marijuana possession charge, but his sentence was extended after pleading guilty to attempting to smuggle narcotics into prison. He was also accused of murder for the 2009 shooting death of 35-year-old Terry Body, but was found not guilty.
While Boosie's rap career slowed while incarcerated, he's remained productive. While inside, he's earned his GED.
