Dancehall star Vybz Kartel has been found guilty of murder.
According to The Jamaican-Gleaner, the 38-year-old Jamaican singer (real name: Adidja Palmer) was among three others convicted this week in the murder of 27-year-old Clive "Lizard" Williams, who was beaten to death at Kartel's house over two missing guns in 2011.
The verdict came back guilty after a 65-day trial. An 11-member jury initially deliberated for nearly two hours before reaching a 10-1 verdict, but the judge sent them back to reconsider before they returned with a unanimous conviction.
Kartel and five other men had been charged with Williams' murder. Fashion designer Calvin Haye had his charges dropped in November, while Shane Williams was found not guilty at trial. Sentencing for Kartel and three others is scheduled for March 27.
In July 2013, Vybz was acquitted of the murder of local promoter Barrington "Bossy" Burton, who was shot and killed in 2011.
