Does anyone know how to rip a watermarked CD? So far I've been able to rip those like any other CD, but the latest advance promo CD I received... nah. "Cannot read the disc" (or something similar) is the message I get when I insert the CD. The ripping software (Max) reads that there are 12 tracks and gets the lengths and so on, but it won't rip the CD. Any ideas?

Don't know if this will help much, but does give some insight on what it is. Good luck, but you could try ripping from a CD player, using double ended earphone jack and recording program on the PC.

VLC (old) plays the tracks, but cannot rip them. The latest VLC doesn't play the CD.
Tried to force mount the disc and it asks for a password.

- Old VLC player is able to play the CD. Cannot rip.
- Max recognizes the tracks but cannot rip.
- Nero can't do anything. It cannot create a CD image either.
- Can't mount the disc (OS X) as it asks for a password --> doesn't work with iTunes and cannot drag+drop tracks either.
- On a Windows PC the CD it is possible to browse the CD, but it appears to be empty.
- AudioGrabber claims that the tracks are data tracks and therefore it cannot rip the CD.
The CD says MSI Copy Control on it. No idea what that is. Never before have I had issues with discs.Last edited by Slut; 12-29-2014, 08:54 PM.
