Jamaican reggae and dancehall star, Bounty Killer, was arrested on assault and other charges on Thursday (July 9), stemming from an altercation with an off-duty policeman nearly two years ago.
According to Reuters, the artist's car was being used to block a road in Kingston, Jamaica in September 2007, while he spoke to some fans. When the officer asked Bounty Killer (real name: Rodney Pryce) to clear the road, he was attacked, beaten, and threatened with a gun.
The incident finally culminated with Bounty Killer being charged with assault, unlawful wounding and illegal possession of a firearm, after a lengthy investigation.
If convicted, he could face up to 15 years.
