Very random. He's maybe indirectly pitching an idea to Dr. Dre. Like hey, come produce my next album. I got the duffel bag ready.

Why though? Isn't it kinda lame to rap on old beats from other artists?

Ok, he's a lil bit late lol but imo it's no problem to rap or sing on other artists beats, in Dancehall & Reggae Music it's common, and I think it's a good idea, because when a beat is sick, more than 1 artist should toast di riddim It's common that a producer makes a beat and 10-15 artists perform her own lyrics on the same beat, so you as a listener can pick the best out of them.

hmmm cant turn back is produced by blackjack, his main producer, his albums from 1993-1995 are all produced by blackjack, all beats sound very similar. you gotta listen to the full albums to recognize the sound.
