Thats why I dig (dug?) hiphop so much as it was just that creative plus it put me onto some other genres I never would've heard. Peep this when you get a moment, such an ill remake and its nice to hear how much was going on in this beat:

i definitely agree with you, the same goes for me-the majority of the reason why i love so many different genres was due to appreciating hip hop to another level and excavating it's roots. and i know it comes down to preference for some people, but a part of me that hurts inside is when you see the average rap fan listening to a track that has a sampled beat thats probably been sampled a million times and you try to "show them the light" by showing them the original/sample, in order to illustrate how the "magic works" or to "reveal the wizard behind the curtains" and a lot of people's reaction is like meh so or "i don't like this type of music" like okay i am not asking you to like it, but appreciate (as in try your best to attempt to fathom the approach that was taken to give you that outcome that you considered "sick" in that rap song since the beat is one of the important elements for the majority of the listeners and we both know that your probably not even listening to the song for the lyrics. your liking the sound so appreciate the evolution... lol don't worry i don't rant when i show them i am just like here check this out... also this goes without saying that it applies for songs that haven't been over sampled either.
what i gather from this is that these type of people usually have the attention span of the length of a vine video so they don't have the patience to hear something that starts of slow or something that is progressive. they don't realise with all these old music there be like 4 minutes of a song that might not be to your taste, but within that 4 minutes they might be like a 10-20 second Gem of a melody/composition etc... that has the potential of a sample that primarily gives you that "sick" sound that you would of liked in a rap song. (i know this is a producer's mentality, but i know a lot people will still appreciate samples without needing take on the producer perspective. but yeah this approach is what allowed me to appreciate other genres.. apart from that i had other mediums that allow me to appreciate different genres such as: GTA games for them 70s-80s songs, Tony hawk games for hip hop, ska punk & reggae rock, tom & jerry and Terry Cartoons for jazz music-all this took me out of my comfort zone as a child as well as my parents playing their Spanish music, all that taught me to see other genres or old songs rather than just label them as "corny" and call it a day.

i understand people listen to music differently and some people just have it as background music. But god damn..

but yeah that remake was dope, the FL studio days and that buffering rate clicking was so aids and it was so hard trying to get sound fonts and vsts that had instruments that didn't sound so synthetic.

Have you ever considered getting one of these for your hip hop tracks, this technology apparently works well with old music making it more "life like" which makes it "perfect" for hip hop since it uses samples from old songs it might give it more depth?. i was actually interested on how it would sound. i wonder if it would be okay to use monitor speakers with this? but i guess since this pre-amp is coloured it would probably defeat the purpose since monitor speakers are utilised due to there flat response. what do you think? [MENTION=15439]Husxle i'll include u in on this one too.

thank you for this input man and the effort that you do to upload this seriously. by the way track 4 is missing on the godfather buried alive. would you mind upping that also please?

u know what i actually do remember that for the record song i just didn't know it was shyne, and that reminds me i think it was also shyne spitting on that usher confessions remix? do you think they just they have him listening to instrumental on head phones during the phone as he spits to the beat, or do you think he just spits it with no beat and then people at the studio have to do a a crop and shift job to make sure his flow is on time the whole time? or bit of both. couldn't they clean up the vocals with some vocals "restoration" techniques or like some noise reduction or something like damn.

just listened to that for the record track, he actually goes in on 50. imagine hearing that in studio version. 50's attention might of been on shyne more than ja? perhaps maybe he wouldn't of been as successful?

Yup, that Bay Area album he dropped before he was on Aftermath is just so blatantly biting. Modern rap game as it stands, well at least those that don't mumble, are heavily indebted to Shyne.
