Nothing new here for anyone with any knowledge about the genre. The term "freestyle" that we say today isn't the same thing in the 80's, like Kane says in that interview. The word just transformed into what we think of today when we hear the word.

i thought everyone knew this. every rapper takes a verse or a half of his verse and does a freestyle with it. i dont mind though, shit sounds way better when they use it in a freestyle imo.
