Snoop Dogg Axes 'Doggystyle' Sequel For New Album Title

Snoop Dogg has axed plans to release the sequel to his classic debut album Doggystyle, which the rapper announced back in September.

Instead of originally titling his upcoming album, Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary, Snoop has opted to re-name what will be his 11th studio album, Doggumentary Music.

"I have been in the game for so long and still have the same passion I did when I first started. I want my fans to ride with me on this one and know that I am so focused on bringing good music to them," the rap legend explained. "It's called Doggumentary Music because this is my life and I want to share my music, and my process of making it, with the fans."

In September, Snoop popped up in a video clip alongside producer Swizz Beatz, who he and the west coast rapper have been hard at work in the studio for the album ... also revealing the title, which has now been changed.

The making of the upcoming album will be "doggumented" via Ustream sessions filmed while Snoop lays down tracks in the studio. So far, Snoop has dropped the Scoop Deville-produced single "New Year's Eve."

Doggumentary Music is due out March 2011.

Doggystyle was classic shit! It's impossible for Snoop to make sequel as good as his debute album...

Its not impossible, he just has to channel the energy of young snoop, and give it a g funk flavour, lol. Snoop does have some great songs post deathrow, but its dissapointing that he has become somewhat of a "coon". I got no problem with any artist exploring their creative side, but just once i would like to see him do a track reminiscent of his older tracks, no neptunes, swizz beatz garbage! Snoop and Dr.Dre need to do a joint album together. On a side note, i like the idea of documenting him recording and all that.

Snoop Dogg is not even exclusive anymore, quick paycheck and does a song for whoever, I'll be surprised if this passes 50,000 copies.

I'm glad he dropped the Doggystyle 2 idea because way too many rappers are doing the sequel thing. And there's no way he could make an album nearly as good as Doggystyle nowadays.
