'Notorious' soundtrack details emerge: Rare Biggie demos and more

The soundtrack for Fox Searchlight's biopic of late rapper The Notorious B.I.G. is rapidly taking shape now that first single "Brooklyn Go Hard" — a Kanye West-produced collaboration between Biggie's old friend Jay-Z and hip rocker Santogold — has leaked online.

Notorious producer Wayne Barrow tells EW that several legendary unheard demo tapes from early in Biggie's career form the heart of the soundtrack: "We kept everything as is, in its raw form. This is what got him the [recording] deal, plain and simple. His fans have been asking for it for years." Adds director George Tillman Jr.: "That's what I'm excited for. It's incredible stuff."

Barrow says the disc, due Jan. 13 on Bad Boy, will also include a handful of catalog tracks and an emotional remix of 1995's "One More Chance" featuring guest vocals from Biggie's 12-year-old son, Christopher "CJ" Wallace.

Early Biggie recordings to appear on "Notorious" movie soundtrack

Some of Notorious B.I.G.'s greatest hits and early, unheard-by-most-people recordings fill out the soundtrack to "Notorious," the forthcoming biopic about the legendary Brooklyn rapper. Slated for release on January 13 on Bad Boy/ Atlantic, the soundtrack features hit singles that endeared Biggie to the masses as well as some of his demos, appearances from his family and brand-new records some of his closest peers, including Jay-Z and Jadakiss. (The movie is slated for release January 16 through Fox Searchlight Pictures.)

Jay, who teamed up with Big for such classics as "Brooklyn's Finest," "I Love the Dough" and Puff Daddy & the Family's "Young G's," comes with "Brooklyn Go Hard," as previously reported by MTV News. The Kanye West-produced track features Santogold. Although an official video is still being discussed, an unsanctioned clip — featuring Hov in animated form — has already hit the Internet. Jadakiss appears on "A Letter to B.I.G." The track was originally recorded for Jada's Last Kiss LP and the filmmakers thought it was perfect to include on the "Notorious" project. Obviously Jada and Big were not strangers: The Biggie/ LOX collaborations during the Bad Boy dynasty years were legendary. The title of 'Kiss' record is self-explanatory: He speaks directly to his deceased friend, who died in a still-unsolved murder in 1997.

Bad Boy has also confirmed that Biggie's son, Christopher "CJ" Wallace Jr., will be performing on a new version of "One More Chance." It's being labeled as "a duet" by Bad Boy. CJ's mom, Faith Evans, sings on a remix of the song, also featured on the album. Early records that never made it onto an album but garnered Big a neighborhood buzz during his "Microphone Murderer" and "Guaranteed Raw" are also included, along with his first-ever officially released track (from the 1993 "Who's the Man?" soundtrack), "Party & Bullsh--."

                nice, thanks for this Troy.

you know its fucking sad, when a new biggie album supposed to come out it does, when a biggie movies supposed to be made it is, but when it comes to Pac we get supposed albums and movies, but the shit aint happening because mother fuckers cant get they shit together and get money hungry. Biggies mom actually doing something for her son and Bad Boy doing something for their previous label mate but Death Row and Afeni aint doing shit. how fucking sad.
