  • Album Charts: Eminem & Royce Da 5'9 Duo, Bad Meets Evil, Hits #1

Eminem returned to the top of the Billboard 200 this week, but this time, alongside longtime friend and fellow Detriot rapper Royce Da 5'9 as the duo known as Bad Meets Evil.

The duo's new album, Hell: the Sequel, hit #1 on the albums chart, selling 171,000 units.

According to Billboard.com, Eminem has previously topped the chart six times as a solo act, and twice as part of D12. His last #1 came with his last solo project, Recovery, which spent seven nonconsecutive weeks at the top last year. Until this week, Royce da 5'9 had never debuted higher than #110 with 2009's Street Hop.

Later within the top 10 is R&B singer Ledisi's Pieces of Me, opening at #8 with 36,000 sold. It's her fifth studio album, and first top 10 album and best sales week. Her last set, 2009's Turn Me Loose, debuted and peaked at #14 with 27,000 sold in its first week.

One other debut this week, outside the top 20, was from Gorilla Zoe and his new album, King Kong. The ATL rapper's third set opened at #49, selling 10,000 in its first week.

That wraps things up this week. To cop any of these new releases, head over to Amazon.com.

According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending June 19) totaled 6.30 million units, up 14% compared to the sum last week (5.51 million) and up 1% compared to the comparable sales week of 2010 (6.14 million).
