  • Actor Will Smith Eyeing Hip-Hop Comeback?

Will Smith is a power player in Hollywood ... and in the rap world, artists wanted to break into movies, they all look up to him as a pioneer.

Well, Smith might be going back to his hip-hop roots, says producer La Mar "Mars" Edwards, who produced several tracks for The Game's upcoming, R.E.D. Album.

In a recent interview with XXLMag.com, Mars revealed that the Hollywood superstar wants to get back into hip-hop.

"We're working on Tip, we're working on the 'High School' movie with Snoop and Wiz Khalifa," the producer said. "We're working on Will Smith, bringing him back. That's actually him on the other line right now..."

Over his career, Smith has released nine albums. However, its been six years since he dropped Loud and Found in 2005. As far as music, it seems he's been grooming his young daughter, Willow, who broke onto the scene last year with her hit single, "Whip My Hair."

Mars didn't give any further details regarding his work with Smith.

Will's Rap is very soft... i like "Miami" and "Just The Two Of Us" but that's all

He's much better as an actor but he's better raper then many "mainstream hip-hop artists"

I like a lot of his songs. It'd be nice if he kept at it. He's better than a lot of others out there.

Summertime is a classic though, smooth beat from kool and the gang and smooth raps.

I liked alot of his stuff, so this is something i look forward t oseeing how it develops.
Like someone said, hes better than most rappers thats on the block nowdays, so I don't see nothing wrong with him coming back. But I do think he's a far more talented actor than he is rapper.
                Love.

i dont know why hes trying so hard to portray a nice guy image. imo he could use some curse words and still be on everyone's good side

I'll check for a Will Smith album, wish he'd get Jazzy Jeff to work with him since he produced some great tracks recently for this singer named Ayah, and his Return Of The Magnificent album is one of my 2007 albums of the year.
