Long hailed by fans as the leader of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Krayzie Bone has scanned well over 1 million units in his solo career (with the first three Fixtape volumes scanning over 35K) and looks to continue his trend of success with "Volume 4" of the series in late November.
With his laid-back flow, and rapid-fire delivery, Krayzie was one of the group's figure-heads, who himself, cemented his place as one of hip-hop's most talented lyricists.
With his upcoming release, titled Under The Influence, the rapper is determined to give his fans more ammunition to prove his skills.
As a member of Bone Thugs, Kray and his group member dropped Strength & Loyalty in the spring of 2007. It was their first major label album after an absence of nearly five years, catapulting them back into the limelight. It debuting at #2 on the Billboard 200, and boasted many star-studded guests, as well as direction from Swizz Beatz who acted as executive producer. It sold over 500,000 copies, reclaiming their place amongst hip-hop's greats.
BTNH followed with their last album, UNI-5,in May 2010, their first album in over a decade with all five original members -- including previously incarcerated Flesh-N-Bone. It landed at #3 on the Billboard Rap Chart, and sold over 200,000 copies.
Since then, Krayzie has disbanded from Bone, announcing his departure in April, citing "uncontrollable circumstances."
While he said he holds no ill will towards his former group, some of the members were furious. Flesh told TMZ that by leaving, Krayzie was "disrespecting Eazy-E's legacy."
At press time, it was unclear what his current status is with the other members.
Still, Krayzie treks on, and Under The Influence is the latest chapter in his career as a solo artist. The project is due out November 22.
One of the first offerings from the LP is "Explosive," which can be streamed via Hulkshare.com.
