New York rap duo, Mobb Deep, has officially announced the first release on their newly-formed Infamous Records imprint — their Black Cocaine EP.
The forthcoming EP, due out later this month, will be a limited release available in two different packaging’s, both of which will be released as a limited edition.
A five-song EP will be available at major retailers, as well as indie record stores on November 21; a seven-song deluxe package will be available only at indie retailers as of November 25th (Black Friday.)Both editions will be a one-time print run and will be available until the end of stocks at both major and indie retailers.
The EP is the first studio project by the duo since 2006′s Blood Money, and will serve as a prelude to Mobb Deep’s next official full length release, expected early next year.
“We wanted to give something to the fans that have been waiting for new Mobb Deep music,” said Prodigy.
“This limited edition EP is a collectors’ item for die hard Mobb Deep fans,” adds Havoc.
While Mobb Deep has already released tracks such as “Street Lights”, “Dead Man’s Shoe” and “Conquer”, a viral video for “Dead Man’s Shoe” will drop before the EP’s release and another video for “Conquer” is currently in pre-production.
As part of the upcoming release’s promotion campaign, the duo will be making a few appearances — including an hour-long live interview and performance on SiriusFM Shade 45 show “Sway In The Morning” on November 22 at 10am. That same night, the group will perform at NY’s BBKings. M-O-B-B will also join the judges’ panel on BET’s “106 & Park” Freestyle Friday on November 18.
