After a slew of new guest appearances on others' singles and remix, T.I. is ready to put out his own project. The ATL rap star has just announced the official title and new single for his upcoming eighth solo LP.
He tells Billboard.com that's he's "embracing" the persona given to him by the media and using it for his album's title -- Trouble Man.
The new single from the project is also the album's title track, which is inspired by Marvin Gaye's 1972 song of the same name.
Apparently, TIP has has recorded 45 songs for the upcoming project, including the Big K.R.I.T.-assisted "I'm Flexin'" and "Here Ye, Hear Ye" with Pharrell; and is now down to selecting his next single.
One potential cut, title "Pyro," could drop very soon.
"I have this one record [called] 'Pyro' that I'm proud of," T.I. said. "'Pyro' is a straight party record. It's nostalgic of those crazy nights, early mornings [but] just turned up."
He also tells Billboard that Trouble Man will focus on the past, more than the present, when he was living more of the rockstar lifestyle which eventually sent him to prison.
"A lot of times I'm taking myself out of my element," TIP said. "This is the first project where I'm talking about things that I've experienced before that I'm not necessarily experiencing now 'cause I'm not doing a whole lot of partying. I do a little bit but not a lot, nothing like when I was in that life."
At press time, no release date was given for Trouble Man.
