Rapper Coolio pleaded not guilty to drug possession and battery charges, stemming from an arrest in early March at LAX.
According to the Associated Press, the 45-year-old rapper (real name: Artis Leon Ivey) entered the plea during an arraignment in Los Angeles on Friday (April 3).
Coolio was arrested on March 6th at LAX airport, when airport authorities found crack cocaine during a search of his luggage. According to reports, at one point during the search, the rapper "grabbed a screener's arm to prevent the search."
The attempt led to a misdemeanor battery charge, in addition to one misdemeanor count of possession of a smoking device.
Coolio has released on bail after posting $10,000, and was due n court Friday to face the charges. If convicted, he would face up to three years in prison.
He remains free on bail, and is due back in court on April 20.
