  • C-Murder Launches Website To Fund Defense In Murder Re-Trial

Although he was granted bail after a judge previously ordered to remain behind bars, rapper C-Murder is facing problems other than his new murder re-trial. That being money problems.

The rapper recently posted a $1 million bond to be freed to house arrest after authorities claimed he left his home on several occasions though he's not supposed to.

Now, with years passing by as he battles to remain free from a life sentence, C-Murder (real name: Corey Miller) is struggling to fund his defense. So, in an effort to continuing battling the courts, he has launched a website to raise funds.

According to AllHipHop, C-Murder has registered the domain name, CoreyMillerInnocenceFund.com, where he will accept donations for his legal defense.

Kernell Reynolds, who also serves as the President of C-Murder's Tru Records, explained why they've decided to launch the site.

"We established this because C hasn't been able to work in almost seven years because of the house arrest," Reynolds told AllHipHop. "It's not really fair. It's even more frustrating because he's under a gag order and can't publicly comment on any thing about the case."

C-Murder is accused of shooting and killing 16-year-old Steve Thomas, in a now-defunct, Harvey nightclub back in 2002. He was originally convicted and sentenced to life in prison in September of 2003, but that decision was overturned when Judge Martha Sassone found that prosecutors withheld criminal background information on witnesses from his attorney.

The state Supreme Court upheld Sassone's ruling in March 2006, when she set $500,000 bail for Miller and ordered his house arrest.

Today, after several delays and years in limbo, C-Murder's new trial is scheduled to begin April 20.
