the US is contradictory. you got all those beach party stuff with all those sexy looking young people, unrestrained lustful dealing (most in the highschool then CUT) and you got politics and other well known of the high society (like everywhere) taking some callgirls or even meeting same-sex....
and on the other side they acting sooo prudish and conservative ... it is like a daily soap with a big hollywood set and its more illusion than reality.

We live in a strange world. Good for people liek him and Common that speak out against unfounded bigotry. You don't want to have gay sex? Don't have it. Seeing two men hold hands or kiss isn't going to give you gay thoughts unless you already had them. And on the other hand It is very common in a lot of cultures for men to be affectionate to each other hugging/kisses on the cheek etc. You can't do that as a young man these days without some douchebro yelling "fag!". The gayest thing in the world is thinking that everyone is gay.
