It's been over a year since The R.E.D. Album dropped, but Game has been working on concepts and songs for what will be his fifth studio LP.
He previously revealed that the final album on his Interscope contract would be titled F.I.V.E. (Fear Is Victory's Evolution), but due to the release of Trey Songz' similarly-titled Chapter V, the rapper has changed the title ... to Jesus Piece.
Game, who says he owns several Jesus pieces, revealed the news to DJ Skee this week, explaining where the title came from.
"I did a song with Kanye that was called 'Jesus Piece,' " he said. "One day we was in the studio and Dre from Cool & Dre was just like, 'We should call the album 'Jesus Piece.' You know how much controversy that will be?"
"I'm a Christian, but I'm not 'holier than thou'," Game continued. "Jesus Piece gives me an opportunity to speak about situations that people like me who love God, but are still street and still wanna remain themselves without going the Pastor Mase route. It gives the opportunity to know that it's somebody out there that feels them."
The rapper said he's eyeing a fourth quarter release for the forthcoming album, and revealed that the first single would be "Celebration," a cut sampling Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's classic "First of the Month", and features Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Tyga, and Wiz Khalifa.
Further details were unknown at press time.
