In addition to Rick Ross' run-in with Young Jeezy at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards on Saturday (September 29) in Atlanta, Maybach Music affiliate Gunplay also experienced his own physical confrontation when members of 50 Cent's G-Unit camp allegedly jumped him.
Footage has leaked of the incident, but the man who filmed it only caught the tail end of the altercation, showing the Miami rapper swinging on one unidentified man before police stepped him and hit him with pepper spray.
Gunplay, himself, called into NYC's Power 105.1 radio station on Monday morning (October 1) to explain and clarify what happened. During his chat with The Breakfast Club morning show, the rapper confirmed rumors of being jumped, but refused to call the individuals out by name.
"I ain't gonna say the donkey's name because I ain't gonna ruin a career already ruined. So off the top, we're going to call him 'Donkey' because he's the donkey of the day," Gunplay explained. "So the donkey walks with eight other donkeys. I see him, I was getting ready to go catch my ride. Police told me I couldn't leave the trailers. I look, I turn around and see the donkey with eight more donkeys and it was either me jump the barrier and run, or stand, pull up my pants and knuckle it out with the donkey.
"He walks up to me with about eight donkeys and he nodded to one of the donkeys set it off and we rumbled," he continued. "I stood up in the paint like a real G supposed to when five bodyguards -- that's trained to kill a human with one finger... they like refrigerators and sh** like that. I caught one of the refrigerators though, like a lion on a wildebeest."
The show's hosts asked if G-Unit's Tony Yayo and new member Kidd Kidd were among those who jumped him, as rumored, saying that wasn't true... but pointed to the team's bodyguards as the culprits.
Gunplay was arrested and later released without being charged.
