  • 50 Cent Calls Out Fake Rappers, Takes Shots At Rick Ross & Newcomers

It's been nine years since 50 Cent burst onto the scene with his classic debut, Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. After years of navigating through the music biz, he's become fed up with the direction hip-hop is currently in.

He took to Twitter this week to express his frustrations, taking taking shots at Rick Ross and rap newcomers who are unoriginal.

"Hip hop has been damaged by fake fraudulent artist who just say anything.now it seems like authenticity means nothing," 50 tweeted (@50Cent). "The culture is so confused a gangsta is bobbing to a cop LMAO think about it. It's just the facts. I'm not impressed by some of the new artist it feels like nothings new stop following trends be your self. Rappers write cars, money, big house, big shot talk. The truth is they ain't got it man for real."

Since the passing of 50's longtime manager, Chris Lighty, he has decided to manage himself... and is now taking his time in releasing the long awaited Street King Immortal album, despite numerous delays previously.

He also issued a warning to his rap peers: don't compete with him because you don't stand a chance.

"Every artist that puts them selves in direct competition with me will suffer due to how well Street King Immortal is put together. Watch the fools who decide to question my talent. Find them selves over whelmed by this album"

He is right. The whole meaning of rap music/hip hop is gone. Its only about people that only want to be famous and want to be on TV, its too much holywoodish. Alot of the passion and realness is gone in the rap industry.

50 cents first official album was nice, his 2nd album was ok. But after that it all went done. I still can hear all these people that said he was going to be the next 2pac lol.

Yes, being a real low-life scumbag criminal is where it's at. If you ain't a misogynist, homophobic, hypermasculine, gun-toting asshole, then you are 'fake'.

Also, anyone who thinks 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is a classic has very questionable taste.
It make homos game at females.

The idea of authenticity is really ambiguous. What is real is being true to yourself. If you've always been about selling records and appealing to a pop audience no one can fault you as being inauthentic because that is your reality. pretending to be something you aren't? Now that is in authentic but most rappers speak from their perspective and we are people so we are changeable and people's perspectives change. Also an audience changes the way a story is told. Change the medium, change the venue or change the audience and every single story that has ever been told is augmented to that effect. That means that if an artist gets a certain level of fame or changes labels the context becomes different so to expect it to stay the same is rather foolish. I'm not saying you have to feel it but to deny that fact is to ignore hundreds of years of story telling history. That is hard to do.
