Rapper Lil Wayne may not be a fan of New York, but that has not stopped Fat Joe from uniting Brooklyn rapper A$AP Rocky, Bronx rapper French Montana and the New Orleans’ vet, on one new track.
Earlier this week, Fat Joe dropped his new single “Yellow Tape” which features the respected group of rappers.
“I wanted to make a record that would go in the clubs, so we flipped the sample from ‘Ante Up,’ which is one of the most legendary Hip-Hop songs of all time. The record is produced by Infared and Illa and arranged by RoJ & TwinkiE, they remade the beat from scratch and brought it up to speed to what’s going on in 2012.”
The collaboration should squash any doubts Lil Wayne may have caused about working with New Yorker rappers, after his controversial remarks about not being fond of the city of New York.
A video for “Yellow Tape” is slated to debut on Monday (November 5).
