  • Rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z, Singer Frank Ocean Top All Grammy Nominees

Rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z and R&B singer Frank Ocean topped the nominees for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place this February in Los Angeles.

Jay-Z, Kanye West and Frank Ocean each earned six nominations, as did Dan Auerbach, FUN and Mumford & Sons.

The Black Keys, Miguel and legendary artist Chick Corea landed five nominations, while Nas, producer Jeff Bhasker and engineer Bob Ludwig are up for four nominations.

“The Grammy Awards process once again has produced a diverse and impressive list of nominations across multiple genres,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. “This year’s nominees truly represent an exceptional and vibrant creative community that exemplifies some of the highest levels of artistry and excellence in their respective fields. Combined with the fifth year of our primetime nominations special, we’re off to an exciting start on the road to Music’s Biggest Night, the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, on February 10.”

It was a good year for the Island/Def Jam label, which racked up a total of 36 nominations.

Artists like Rihanna, 2Chainz, Big Sean, Pusha-T, The Fream, Ne-Yo, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, The Roots, Luke James, Rick Ross and Bob Marley & The Wailers are among the artists on the Island/Def Jam label that have been nominated for a Grammy Award.

The 55th annual Grammy Awards are slated to take place February 10th and will air live from the Staples Center on CBS.
