Kid Cudi is not happy ... with his label, and promises that if they don't change things, there's "gonna be some problems."
The G.O.O.D. Music rapper took to Twitter to vent about his frustrations over his songs not receiving spins on radio, despite racking up millions of views on VEVO. He compared the stats of the videos for his singles "Just What I Am" and "King Wizard" to similarly-viewed videos such as Trinidad James' "All Gold Everything," as an example of why... he feels the way he does.
"King Wizard 3.4 million views on Vevo, Just What I Am has 4.3 million and my sh** is not on regular rotation on radio. Hmmm," Cudi tweeted (@ducidni). "Trinidad James got 4.1 million views on his hit (rightfully so), and I hear that jam EVERYWHERE. Wheres my f***in spins???"
From there, he delivered an ultimatum to his label, Universal Republic. "To my label, I swear to all that is f***in holy in this world, if things dont change soon, theres gonna be some problems," he warned.
Cudder goes on to explain how hard he's worked on his upcoming album, Indicud, all by his lonely... and now, wants the label to do their part.
"I worked too hard on all this sh**. Producing, writing, directing AND executing the sh** proper. I did my part, I put in work. Wtf," he said. "Yall kno I cuts no slack. Not w my music. Every song is my life. A piece of my f***in tormented soul. It matters to me. I give a f***."
Following the release of 2011's WZRD, Cudi blamed Universal for shipping just 55,000 physical copies and rushing him through the recording process, resulting in the project debuting at #3 instead of higher.
