Rapper Smoke of the Grammy Award winning duo Field Mob spoke with AllHipHop.com about his upcoming projects, while filming a music video off his debut solo mixtape “K.A.N.G.”
Smoke explained that he’d been eyeing a solo career for years, which is finally coming to fruition with “K.A.N.G., an acronym for “Kuntry Ass Ni**as Grinding.”
“I been wanting to do it, I just never did it because I always put Field Mob first,” Smoke told AllHipHop.com during a recent video shoot. “I would use it as a hobby to do solo records. Practice makes perfect. I got good at it…people took a liking to my music as a solo artist , so I said f**k it an gave them what they wanted.”
Although he has a budding solo career he has not forgotten his situation with Field Mob group member Shawn Jay, with whom he produced hits like “Sick of Being Lonely” and “So What” featuring Ciara.
“Not excluding the Field Mob situation that situation is still what it is and going to be what it is,” Smoke told AllHipHop.com. “Its just you know business ventures. I’m grown. You get older and you wanna do other things. These are the things I want to do.”
