This is so awesome in my opinion. It's a very positive move and thing for our community here. This is the type of stuff Pac was doing and wanted to do. Free concerts to clean up violence. Master P is giving free school supplies away to inspire kids to get good education and stop violence. he's also going to make a documentary. Each post is a different article and some of them have interview footage on the links. Hope you find this as cool as i do.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Rap and clothing mogul, Master P, will be in Louisville Thursday at Central High School to participate in a backpack giveaway.

During an earlier interview, the rap and clothing mogul said he has a special place in his hear for Louisville after his family was welcomed with open arms when they were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

The giveaway begins at 10 a.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- You may not know his music but he is using his voice to spread more than just rhymes.

Rapper and entrepreneur Master P stopped in Louisville again on Friday, Aug. 8, talking about education and non-violence.

WHAS11's Renee Murphy sat down for a one-on-one interview with the entertainer about his love for Louisville, his passion for kids and why he says his music isn't perfect, but helps him get a point across to kids.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – One of the pioneers of the Southern rap music scene made a special appearance in Louisville Tuesday morning.

Rapper Master P toured Beecher Terrace and talked to residents about spreading his words from the street.

“I know we are going to find the next Master P's, the next big superstars, right here in these projects,” Master P said.

Before there was Lil’ Wayne and T.I. there was Master P -- a rapper from the toughest streets in New Orleans turned millionaire recording artist and entrepreneur.

Today he stopped in one of Louisville’s toughest neighborhoods reminding young people about his cause and his latest project.

He is working on a documentary that centers around stopping crime and violence.

“Stop making excuses. I could be in jail with my brother right now. Teach your babies maybe one of them could be a blessing to help you,” Master P said.

“This project can help out and save many different lives for kids who want to get involved in violence and tell them this is not the way to go,” Lavel White, producer of the documentary, said.

“My coach told me in the projects, he said man you ever make it you comeback,” Master P said. “I challenge them, any athlete, any entertainer from Louisville support this mission if I could come from somewhere else I just want to challenge every businessman to do your part. So, I’m gonna support.”

The documentary Master P is working on with White is set to be released in the fall. Master P also toured Metro Corrections while he was in town. He talked to inmates and even played a little basketball all in an effort to continue his outreach.

Now, one group is looking for a way to say thank you. Licia Breckenridge and Christopher 2X stopped by the WHAS11 studio to talk about how you can be part of the thank you CD being made for Master P.
