  • Eminem Confirms D12 Reunion, "We're Gonna Be Back"

D12 leader Eminem recently confirmed his rap group's upcoming reunion and said the Detroit-based team are headed back to the studio for an album.

In addition to the project, Em also spoke on the loss of D12 member Proof.

"Right now, my music would probably be the same [if Proof was still alive," Em explained in an interview. "I think this is what Proof always wanted, was for me to go crazy again. My life would be different because I would still have him. Me and the guys, we got a bond, it's special. It's like, as far as the future of D12, we're gonna be back in the studio soon." D12's Bizarre spoke on the status of his rap group in an interview earlier this year.

"Everybody's in D12 and we're doing good," Bizarre told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom. "[A new album] is definitely going to happen. We're working on it right now, Marshall Mathers is coming out first with Relapse...I'm on Eminem's album...I'm recording a couple of songs. Big up to Dr. Dre." (Jenny Boom Boom TV)
    The project would follow-up 2004's D12 World.

After a three-year wait, the group returned with D12 World, including guest appearances from Obie Trice and B Real. D12 was originally founded by members Bizarre and Proof around 1990, but the size and scope of the group expanded when Proof brought in childhood friend Eminem followed by Swift, Kon Artis, Bugz and Kuniva. Aside from D12, Em's Relapse will reportedly have reached the one million mark next week after a month in stores.

The sound you heard is the Black Eyed Peas landing at #1 on next week's HITS Album sales chart with a total anywhere between 190-215k for The E.N.D. Based on those same one-day sales reports, this week's chart-topper RCA's Dave Matthews Band and Interscope's dope rapper Eminem will have an old-fashioned street battle for #2, with both in the 115-125k range. Next highest debut will be Atlantic's Pleasure P at 35-40k, Sony Music Latin's Aventura (25-30k), Downtown's Mos Def (25-30k) and Stax/Concord Music Group's Teena Marie (15-20k). (Hits Daily Double)
No further information on the D12 album has been released as of today (June 13).

hard to picture a D12 album without Proof ... perhaps there's an unreleased verse or two they can incorporate onto the next album?!

Though it would be interesting to see what they come up with this reunion.
