I don't think there CAN be an overall king, there is 2 many styles to take into consideration, the argument about who is the VERY BEST is a futile argument at best.

2Pac = king of emotional and in your face rap
Tech N9ne = King of party and creative rap
Brotha Lynch = King of gutter, twisted and horror rap
Soulja boy = King of bubble gum and commercial rap
Jedi Mind Tricks = King of complex rap
Mos Def and Common = Conscious rap
