Wale is no longer being managed by Roc Nation according to reports. The Washington, DC area native has split with the company founded by Jay Z.
XXL is reporting the decision to part ways was amicable. Wale is now teaming with Leonard Brooks, Maverick Carter, and Rich Paul at 77 North Management which is also the management home of NBA superstar LeBron James and NFL rookie Johnny Manziel.
“Wale’s growth and maturity is clear, as he continues work on his best project to date. Its rollout has a lot to do with his new management, who have only been associated with the biggest and best brands in the world… #LeBron #Beats #JohnnyFootball ,” said 77 North in a statement to Revolt.
Wale joined Roc Nation management in 2009. The “LoveHate Thing” rapper is still signed to Maybach Music Group/Atlantic, and he is currently working on his next studio album The Album About Nothing.
The Roc Nation roster still includes Meek Mill, Kanye West, Timbaland, and Casey Veggies on the management side. Music artists signed to the Roc Nation label include Jay Z, Rihanna, Jay Electronica, DJ Mustard, Rita Ora, and J. Cole.
