N.W.A joins War, Bill Withers, Green Day and Lou Reed on the list of nominees.
N.W.A is among the nominees for the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The public is allowed to vote for the inductees along with the Rock Hall voting body. Fans have until December 9 to summit their votes on RollingStone.com.
N.W.A joins Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Bill Withers, the Smiths, Lou Reed, Sting, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Kraftwerk, Chic, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, the Marvelettes, the Spinners, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and War on the list of nominees.
N.W.A released its debut album, Straight Outta Compton, in 1988. The effort included several prominent N.W.A cuts, including "Express Yourself" and "Fuck tha Police."
Ice Cube and Dr. Dre are heading a biopic about the group set to hit the big screen. The film is scheduled to be released in 2015.
