Eminem dropped a new video for the “Shady Cxvpher” featuring Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf, but it was lyrics from Em’s verse that received some negative feedback including a response from Azealia Banks. The “212” rapper apparently had an issue with the Shady Records leader’s lines directed at singer-songwriter Lana Del Ray.
Eminem rapped:
But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/Play nice? B***h I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.
Banks took to Twitter to offer her advise to Del Ray on how to respond to Em.
Banks has been open about addressing other artists throughout her career. Earlier this year she had a public feud with T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris.
Eminem is known for throwing lyrical jabs at pop stars like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, NSYNC, and others. The “Guts Over Fear” emcee has also had issues with other Hip Hop figures such as Canibus, Ja Rule, and Benzino.
The “Shady Cxvpher” video is part of the promotion for the upcoming two-disc Shady Records greatest hits compilation Shady XV. Songs by Em, Bad Meets Evil, Slaughterhouse, D12, 50 Cent, Yelawolf, and Obie Trice are part of the project.
