  • Suge Knight Fires One Of His Lawyers During Court Appearance

Suge Knight also complained in court of being confined to a stretcher-like chair.

Suge Knight fired one of his lawyers yesterday during a court appearance over his involvement in the forceful theft of a photographer's camera alongside Katt Williams in Beverly Hills last year.

According to the LA Times, Knight told the judge directly that he wanted to part ways with one of his attorneys, David Kenner, who represents him in the robbery case.

During the court appearance, which follows a series of dramatic dates in February and March that ended up with Knight being hospitalized more than once, the Death Row Records founder complained about his being confined to a medical, stretcher-like chair during court. “I walk perfectly fine,” Knight reportedly told the judge while petitioning to sit in a normal courtroom chair.

After the appearance, Suge Knight's other lawyer, Matthew Fletcher, complained of his client's treatment by the state, going as far as to compare his confinement to the medical chair to that of Hannibal Lecter's from Silence of the Lambs. According to Fletcher, Knight has been held “virtually incommunicado” and has been barred from using a phone or receiving visits from family members.

The last time Knight appeared in court in March his bail was set at $25 million. On top of the original robbery case, the former Hip Hop mogul is currently fighting charges of killing a 55-year old man with his car in January and injuring another after a confrontation over the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Knight faces charges of murder, attempted murder, two counts of hit-and-run, and claims that he carried out another felony while out on bail in a separate case.

Knight will return to court on April 13 for a date in connection with the alleged murder and May 27 for a follow-up in the case of the camera robbery.
