Krizz Kaliko says he had to re-write part of his verse for "Speedom (Worldwide Choppers 2)" because he lost it initially.
Strange Music signee Krizz Kaliko recently spoke with HipHopDX Editor-In-Chief, Justin Hunte about a few things including one of the biggest collaborative songs of his career.
When asked about his verse on Tech N9ne's track "Speedom (Worldwide Choppers 2)," which also features Eminem, Krizz says he recorded his verse well before the other two emcees did.
"Tech gave me the beat and then he said, 'I want it to sound like this for the hook,' and I wrote the hook and I recorded my verse months before he did his, months before Em ever did his," he recalled in a segment via DX Daily. "I was trying to set the stage for it but I tried to. I was like, 'Tech's going to be on it'–and then when I found out Em was going to be on it–I'm like, 'I gotta murder these niggas,' eventhough Tech is my mentor... My part was probably recorded three months before Em got on it."
Krizz Kaliko also said that he initially lost the original verse because it was on his phone but was then destroyed because he sat in a hot tub with it in his pocket.
"We did a Canadian tour and I actually lost the verse because I write everything in my phone and I got in the hot tub with my phone, fried it, I didn't have it backed up on iCloud or nothing and next thing I know I get back home and I remembered it," he said. "I remembered everything except four bars. I rewrote it."
