Ice Cube to perform tracks from “Straight Outta Compton” for the first time in well over a decade.
In addition to sets from Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and a handful of other artists, this month’s BET Experience at L.A. LIVE will also welcome a performance from Los Angeles, California rapper Ice Cube and special guests.
It’s unclear who Cube’s special guests will be, but it has been revealed that the West Coast musician will perform tracks from N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton album.
According to a press release for the concert, this will serve as the first time in 15 years since NWA’s split that those songs will be performed.
The concert featuring Ice Cube will take place on Saturday, June 27 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event will take place weeks before the scheduled August 14 release of the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
Other artists set to perform at the West Coast-heavy show include TDE lyricists ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock.
The BET Experience at L.A. LIVE takes place over the course of four days, and is scheduled to conclude with the 2015 BET Awards.
