Rapper Evidence recently signed a signs multi-album deal with indie powerhouse Rhymesayers Entertainment.
In 2007, the rapper set out to solidify his solo career with the release of the critically acclaimed, The Weatherman LP. Followed up by 2008's The Layover EP and over 200 shows, Evidence has spent the last couple of years building a foundation of supporters, fan by fan. With this momentum Evidence knew he needed a team that could match his current pace and energy, and Rhymesayers seems to be the best fit for that.
"This is the most natural move I could have made to further the evolution of my career, while maintaining my identity and passion for the music," explained Ev. "Rhymesayers has a proven track record of being focused and dedicated to their artists and I'm excited to be a part of that."
As one-third of the Los Angeles hip-hop staple Dilated Peoples, Evidence has spent the better part of his decade plus in the game, touring the globe and collectively selling well over 700,000 units. In addition to his Dilated work, Evidence has produced tracks for the Beastie Boys, Linkin Park, Defari, Planet Asia and more, including co-production on Kanye West's debut The College Dropout.
With a new deal in place, Evidence will be touring this fall as direct support on Brother Ali's Fresh Air Tour while putting the finishing touches on his Rhymesayers debut, Cats & Dogs, slotted for release early 2010.
